About P-TECH

  • Did you know you can graduate high school with a Regents Diploma and an Associate in Applied Science Degree?

The program is open to incoming ninth graders who are eager to acquire the skills necessary to earn a college degree and to compete in a highly competitive work science student force. Applicants must be willing to commit to a rigorous course of study in science, math, career development and essential 21st century skills, such as problem solving and critical thinking.

    Earn a Degree

Upon graduation from P-TECH (up to six years of study) students will have earned a high school Regents diploma and a college Associate in Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. They will have the opportunity to advance their education in a four-year degree program at Farmingdale State college.

    Start a Career

P-TECH partners with industry leaders, giving students the experience they need to secure lucrative, high-level careers in manufacturing and engineering. P-TECH's comprehensive work-based learning program includes visits from industry experts, internships, shadow days, coaching and mentoring and part-time employment.

    No Cost for Students

P-TECH is funded through a New York State grant program and is delivered at no cost to students or their families. This means that P-TECH students will be enrolled in a two-year college degree program and an industry-based career development program free of charge.
